As in this mosaic, the multiple components that comprise our lives, our thoughts and feelings CAN come together in a meaningful whole.
In school we spend years studying about the depths of the oceans and the heights of the stars, but we learn little or nothing about our emotions and how or why they work as they do. As a result, we can be confused or upset, even feel wrong, be happy or sad, or can love and hate at the same time. While we may feel such conflicts do not make sense rationally, they make perfect sense in a psycho-logical way.
Psychotherapy is a like a private tutorial where you can learn about you. As with any course, you can take your self-knowledge as far and deep as you wish. Like the proverbial onion, you have many layers.
Many people benefit from just a few sessions to gain empathy and support while navigating a difficult life passage, like illness, divorce or loss, or to learn essential skills for managing stress and anger, or communicating more effectively to improve relationships. Sometimes people are in a great deal of pain or suffer from unresolved traumas needing more thorough psychotherapy. Often people may choose to embark on a deeper exploration of their inner world to gain insight and well-being.
I use my many years of experience and broad training to create a safe, supportive, respectful environment where we will work together on your inner journey. You can learn to connect thoughts, behavior and bodily responses to feelings, to put these feelings in to words and, put your intentions for change into action. You can become empowered to gain the knowledge and understanding necessary to achieve your goals and feel better.
