Dr. Ellen Diamond
Dr. Ellen Diamond is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience as a psychotherapist and
educator. She received her BA from the University of Chicago and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from
the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
As a Jungian inspired psychotherapist who has completed advanced certification in EMDR, Dr. Diamond has the skills and experience to do depth work. She has treated people ranging from 6 to 90 years of age, as individuals,
couples, families and groups, and has seen them for a wide range of presenting issues, from those seeking
personal growth to those suffering from severe trauma. As an educator, she has taught every grade from
pre-schoolers to psychology graduate students and medical residents.
Dr. Diamond has worked extensively in both inpatient and outpatient medical programs and educational
settings, including the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, The Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, The School of the Art Institute, The Center for Human Reproduction and the
Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Most recently she was a health psychologist for the
Center for Complementary Medicine, an integrative medicine program at Lutheran General Hospital where she specialized in mind-body health psychology.
Dr. Diamond uses an unique blend of psychothereapy techniques for each person to enable undertanding the
inter-connection between physical health and emotions, the ways our emotions affect our physical health and
the ways our physical health affects our emotions. She works primarily with individual adults addressing such
issues as grief, loss, illness, infertility, anger and stress management, trauma, creativity, dream analysis and spirituality. She
enjoys presenting and writing about these areas for the public.
